Support the Call for a Commission of Inquiry on Crimes in Burma!

Public statements, activities in partnership with civil society, as well as resolutions in country-based parliaments can have a role in not only directing your countries’ vote at the UN Security Council, but also in adding your countries’ diplomatic weight to the global movement for change.
 
  • Form a caucus of likeminded colleagues that will advocate for UN Security Council action on Burma and to engage in continued advocacy actions on behalf of Burma’s people.
EXISTING CAUCUSES
  • Draft Resolutions calling for the establishment of a UN-mandated Commission of Inquiry on crimes against humanity and war crimes in Burma.
RESOLUTION EXAMPLE
  • If you are from a country currently represented at the UNSC, draft resolutions demanding UN Security Council action on Burma following the recommendations in the “Crimes in Burma” report and/or that your country’s UN Representative on the Security Council introduce a resolution on Burma following the recommendations in the “Crimes in Burma” report.

  • Form a link with Burma activists/activist organizations to enhance and assist in their efforts.
